Throughout The Season

Alongside Ultra Challenges we have 10 km or 10 mile events for those looking for a shorter challenge, perhaps experience a ‘taster’ to see what an Ultra Challenge set up is all about, or get active whilst your partner or family member is taking on a longer Ultra! On most you can Walk, Jog, or Run (some are just walks) – and they’re ideal to also get your family, children, and friends involved with – to get active, and have a great day out!

A 10 km or 10 mile challenge is fun, safe, and accessible, rewarding! You can take it on at your pace as an individual, or as a team of friends or family – and children are welcome, there’s an optional finishers meal (picnic included on some) – and you’ll enjoy a great day out! BAKEWELL 10 MILE
... Peak District Challenge

A 10 mile looped route starting & finishing at our Bakewell basecamp, taking in the best of the Derwent Valley Herritage Way along The River Derwent up to Chatsworth  House. Rest stop at 5 miles & Picnic lunch at the finish.

It is easy to join & leave with parking & overnight camping options available.

GUILDFORD 10K
... N Downs 50 Challenge

The popular ‘North Downs 50’ was back again for 2023 – with our Guildford 10 km. The route explores public footpaths within Littleton past Loseley Park. Join us for this fantastic mid-summer challenge – with good access from London.

A new addition to the Series in 2023 – taking in the some of the best of the Surrey Hills and the surrounding Surrey & Sussex countryside – with panoramic views from the North Downs. Our start / finish venue at Surrey Sports Park in Guilford is Challenge ‘basecamp’. All very accessible from London & the South East – and a great summer challenge!

A fantastic 10 km looped route from the basecamp that lies below Dunster Castle. The route explores stunning views of the Castle, ancient hill forts and wonderful trails through the estate woodlands & hills with magnificent views at the top. You’ll be rewarded with a medal, glass of fizz & an optional discounted BBQ meal to celebrate your achievements.

10K SUMMER WALK
... London Summer Walk

Explore the ‘gateway to London’ along the River Thames eastern section. Starting by Woolwich Royal Artillery Barracks.

A 10 KM Walking Challenge  – taking in some of the Capital’s historic areas and sights in the eastern section of the River Thames. A great way to get active over the Bank Holiday weekend and explore new parts of London – and to celebrate the end of summer with a BBQ and bar at the finish.

MOONLIGHT 10 WALK
... Thames Path Challenge

 Take on a spirited 10km or an energetic 10 mile looped route from The Oval Cricket Ground – through the heart of London as darkness falls, passing famous landmarks – including St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and more. A lively finish awaits – with some fizz, a ‘Moon medal’, some welcome hot food & drink. Perfect to join with friends after work for an active evening on the town!

The ‘Moonlight 10 Walk‘ is on Friday evening setting out from The Oval Cricket Ground. It will be a fun London evening along the Thames – and if you have the legs the local bar will be open afterwards.

Take on an evening 10km or 10 miles on a looped walking route – starting at The Oval. Hot food afterwards + bar. Perfect for some exercise + some fun – ideal for groups & teams. 

Excellent transport links – with the Northern or Victoria Line – over ground trains from Waterloo or Victoria.

THE THAMES 10K
... Thames Bridges Trek

NEW THAMES 10 KM OPTION – starting at The Oval Cricket Ground – and finishing at Southwark Park – beyond Tower Bridge

10 km & flat! Walking only.

Start – The Oval Cricket Ground (easy to get to). Tea. coffee, snacks.

Start Time – 10.30 – 11.0 am Saturday 14th Sept

Route – follow the arrows! Crosses Millennium Bridge,  Southwark Bridge, London Bridge and Tower Bridge.

Finish – Southwark Park, with a great atmosphere, celebration, medal, T-shirt, glass of fizz – and a picnic lunch.

Transport – good Tube links, both ends.

VIEW 10K ROUTE >>

The Thames 10K is a great way to see the best of London with cityscape views & unfolding history. 

Saturday morning – Oval Cricket Ground Start- Southwark Park finish – great atmosphere & picnic lunch – with plenty of time to celebrate afterwards!

 

NEW 10 KM OPTION – a start from Oval Cricket Ground on Saturday morning (10.30 – 11.00am) with a finish at Southwark Park.

The Henley 10k is alongside the Thames Path Challenge’s main finish venue. It’s a fabulous 10 km loop through Remenham countryside with a start / finish near Henley Bridge on Sunday morning. Take it on as a Walk, a Jog, or as a Run – and get your family and friends involved.

A great 10km looped route from the basecamp at Kent  Showground, nr Maidstone.  The route explores surrounding public footpaths  & woodlands  – and at the Pilgrims Way heads to Detling via Boxley and back to the Showground You’ll be rewarded with a medal, glass of fizz & discounted hot meal to celebrate your achievements.

... London Halloween Walk

A hair-raising hike around some of the City’s scary streets and historic haunts! Gather your bravest guys & ghouls to make up a team – or go it alone if you dare and meet other chilling challengers. Dress to distress, and our creepy dungeon keepers at The Oval Cricket Ground basecamp start & finish will meet, greet & shock! Once you escape there’s ghostly looped routes, with zombie rest stops, and if you manage to get back in one piece there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz, some horrific hot food & drink. 

Why not treat yourself to a hair-raising hike around some of the City’s scary streets and historic haunts? 25 & 26

Registration opens mid-year

The opening event of the season,  and a great way to walk off the festive celebrations and kick start a New Year fitness regime, or early training for an Ultra Challenge. Choose your distance – 10K (or Full Marathon or Half Marathon) wrap up on the Saturday or Sunday, and you’ll get a winter bobble hat (if you sign up early), a medal, some hot food & drink – and an invigorating walk taking in some of the Capital’s highlights.

A fantastic atmosphere as 4,000 or so walkers will set out from the Oval Cricket Ground, near Vauxhall, and take in some of the Capital’s key landmarks & historic sights. A big welcome back at the Oval finish line with a medal and some hot food, on completing your 10km

A memorable 10 km to take on after the Easter break! From the Windsor Racecourse basecamp, you can Walk, Jog or Run a looped route through historic Windsor. You’ll get a few Easter surprises, a neck buff & medal, a picnic lunch & drink at the finish. 10 km route map coming soon!

Join us the weekend after Easter.  Windsor is the historic backdrop – and the Racecourse is our Challenge basecamp. You’ll head around a beautiful 10 km route views of the Castle.  It’s easy to get to, there’s plenty of parking – a great atmosphere.

A great event if you are local islander.  On the the bank holiday weekend. Starting at our showground basecamp – you’ll follow the trails around the estuary, cross on the chain ferry – and really get a good feel for Cowes and its surrounding area. You finish back at the Cowes basecamp after a rewarding 10 mile mini challenge! 10 Mile route map coming soon.

Our Cowes basecamp is the south makes a perfect start / finish venue for  your 10 Mile. Follow the estuary of the River Medina cross on the chain ferry – and really get a good feel for Cowes and its surrounding area.

BRIDPORT 10K
... Jurassic Coast Challenge

Registration opens mid-year

10 km looped route with a start & finish at the main Bridport hub. The route explores the off road paths, and pass the West Bay Harbour and views of the wonderful West Bay Cliffs. You’ll be rewarded with a medal, glass of fizz, & an optional discounted finishers meal to celebrate your achievements. 

One of Britain’s stunning coastlines, and a fantastic setting for a challenge – with amazing views as you reach West Bay, following the coastline to Eype Beach, then taking you inland  for a welcome finish line in back at  Bridport.  

Bridport 10K –  a great looped route out of our main finish line basecamp taking in a wonderful coastal section.

Transport Options

  • Pre-event shuttles from local train stations to start
  • Pre-event transfer from finish lines (so you can ‘park & ride’ to your start)

... Lake District Challenge

10 km looped route with a start & finish at Ambleside. The fabulous route explores a terrain along Rydal Water’s edge and includes stunning views of ‘5 Lakes’  – with Grasmere Lake and Loughrigg Tarn as well. You’ll be rewarded with a medal, glass of fizz, & a picnic lunch to celebrate your achievements.

A World Heritage site – and world famous scenery, with fells, lakes, and forests – and all in all – the best of England! The route takes you  along Rydal Water’s edge and includes stunning views of ‘5 Lakes’  – with Grasmere Lake and Loughrigg Tarn. The 10km is a fantastic, scenic, loop, from Ambleside.

Ambleside 10K – a truly fantastic looped route from our major Rest Stop – and perfect if you’re staying near by and want a short / sharp challenge!

Transport Options
