Camping - Kendal

Based at our ‘base camp’ in Kendal, Friday 10th June & Saturday 11th June. Ideal for all Challengers starting & finishing in Kendal (on the Saturday eve). Our campsite has hot showers, a rest area, changing rooms, drinks & more.

Your very own 2-man tent & mattress all set up and ready for you – no need for you to put up or take the tent down and enough space for you and your bag! As well as access to all our campsite facilities, breakfast on the Sunday morning is also included. 

Your very own 3-man tent & mattress all set up and ready for you – no need for you to put up or take the tent down and enough space for two people and bags! As well as access to all our campsite facilities, breakfast on the Sunday morning is also included. 

Bring your own tent & reserve a pitch in our campsite. You will have access to hot showers, changing areas, hot drinks facilities & rest areas. Also includes breakfast for the Sunday morning.

YHA Accommodation - Lakeside

Based at our ‘half way’ stop ~50 km at Lakeside on the evening of Saturday 11th June. We’ve a range of accommodation options at the YHA, all include breakfast on the Sunday morning and hot showers! We’ve limited availability – so book sooner rather than later!

Our shared dorm rooms sleep up to 6 people, you can book a bed in a female only dorm, which you will share with other Challengers. You will have access to shared bathroom facilities, and a breakfast Sunday morning.

Our shared mixed dorm rooms sleep up to 6 people, you can book x2 beds, which you will share with other Challengers, ideal for couples/ friends. You will have access to shared bathroom facilities, and a breakfast Sunday morning.

Our private twin rooms will have access to own bathroom facilities, and a breakfast Sunday morning per person.

Our private dorm rooms are ideal for groups, and have 6 single beds. You will have access to own bathroom facilities, and a breakfast Sunday morning per person.

Camping - Lakeside

We have pitch only camping available to book at Lakeside for the Saturday night.

Parking

We have three parking passes available for the event weekend, depending on which you require.

If you are driving to the challenge, and plan on leaving your car in Kendal whilst you take part, to then collect your car once you’ve finished Saturday afternoon/evening/ Sunday.  

If you are driving to the challenge, and plan on leaving your car in Lakeside whilst you take part, to then collect your car once you’ve finished on Sunday.  

If you have supporters who are dropping you off/ collecting you from Ambleside or Lakeside (half way). 

Please note if your supporters are planning on dropping you off/ collecting you from Kendal they must use the car park at Kendal Morrissons.

Pre Challenge

We’ve a range of shuttles & services to take you to your start line, before your challenge.

Ideal for anyone starting in Kendal.

Our shuttle service will take you from Kendal train station, to the startline of the challenge and running during the below times:

  • Friday 16:00 – 20:00
  • Saturday 06:00 – 09:00

Ideal for 2nd Half Challengers, taking part on Sunday morning.

Park your car in Kendal your finish, and take our shuttle to the start line at Lakeside:

  • Sunday 05:00

Parking is available at our start/ finish in Kendal all weekend from Friday 16:00 – Sunday 22:00.

We advise that if your supporters are droppping you off at Kendal, they use the Morrisions car park which has up to 3 hours free parking.

Post Challenge

We’ve a range of shuttles & services for after your challenge.

Ideal for 1st Quarter Challengers.

Our shuttle service will take finishers back to the start, or to nearby Kendal train station.

Ideal for 1st Half Challengers.

Our shuttle service will take finishers back to the start, or to nearby Kendal train station.

Ideal for anyone finishing their Challenge in Kendal.

Our shuttle service will operate from 17:00 on Saturday until Sunday 21:00 on a regular basis, although there may be a wait of up to an hour during quiet times.

Ideal for 2nd half challengers finishing their Challenge in Kendal.

Baggage Transfers

We’ve a range of baggage services taking your baggage forward for you to access during the challenge. All baggage services will be paid in cash on the day, you cannot pre book/ buy these options. Please note the max weight limits – these are strict, and bags will be weighed.

Ideal for Full Challengers walkers & joggers. 

Our shuttle service will take your bag (max weight 20kg) from the start, to the half way stop, and then onwards to the finish.

Ideal for all Full Challengers.

Store your bag in Kendal at your start/ finish.

Ideal for all Half Challengers.

Our shuttle service will take your bag (1 piece of luggage per person, 20kg) from the start to your finish.

Ideal for all Quarter Challengers.

Our shuttle service will take your bag (1 piece of luggage per person, max weight 20kg) from the start to your finish.

Included for all Runners (anyone confirmed as a Runner on entry) – our kit drop service will take a small (10kg max) kit bag forward for you to access:

  • Full Challenge runners – start > midway > finsih
  • Half & Quarter Challenge runners – start > finish
